Rosacea Treatment

At Accurate Aesthetics, we use the Palomar MediLux™ Intense Pulsed Light System to treat the following problem:
Rosacea affects 14 million American women, mostly after age 30. Rosacea presents as redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead with small visible blood vessels on the face. Flushing is the earliest sign and there often is thickening of the skin. It has been shown that 70% of Rosacea patients have a lowered self confidence and self esteem and 30% have actually missed work because of the problem. One or more treatments with intense pulsed light can reduce or remove the presence of redness and spider veins in the face. Most people experience a mild redness and swelling, similar to a sunburn, in the area treated shortly after treatment. This does not interfere with normal activities and usually subsides within a day.
These pulsed light treatments are often combined in a process known as a photofacial. The specific treatment used at Accurate Aesthetics Plastic Surgery is the Palomar RejuveLux™ Process. Combined with our Synergistic Skin Care Program, your skin can have a much improved appearance even without invasive surgery. These treatments are also combined with Botox® and Injectable Fillers to maximize time before surgery is needed.

Pigmented Spots

At Accurate Aesthetics, we use the Palomar MediLux™ Intense Pulsed Light System to treat the following problem:
Pigmented Lesions (sunspots or age spots) occur in response to sun-induced skin injury and appear as brown circles known as solar lentigines. The MediLux™ intense pulsed light handpiece emits a light that breaks up the pigment in the lesions. Most people perceive the light as a gentle “snapping” sensation, which causes little or no discomfort. Pigmented lesions will darken slightly after treatment and then fade away in about 10 to 14 days.
